A sculpted dove at the top of this beautifully detailed cross makes it an especially appropriate gift for the newly confirmed.
The name of the saint and the words "Pray for Us" encircle a handsomely sculpted image of the saint, while symbols associated with St. Jude decorate the arms of the cross.
The 5 1/2" tall cross is crafted in solid pewter in the United States and comes in a gift box with a prayer card.
St. Jude, known as Thaddaeus, was a brother of St. James the Less. St. Jude was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus. It is not known when and by what means he became a disciple of Jesus as there is nothing said about him in the gospels before we find him enumerated among the apostles. Jude was the one who asked Jesus at the Last Supper why He would not manifest Himself to the whole world after His resurrection. Christ answered that He and the Father would visit all those who love Him. His patronage of lost or impossible causes traditionally derives from confusion by many early Christians between Jude and Judas; not understanding the difference between the names, they never prayed for Jude's help, and devotion to him became something of a lost cause.
