Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the Yugoslavian nun who became a missionary to India, dedicated her life to serving the poorest of the poor. She founded the Missionaries of Charity, a congregation of Roman Catholic sisters who carry on her work. She was beatified in 2003, just six years after her death.
